News Release The Southwest Central Region SHRM HR Student Games The Southwest Central Regional SHRM HR Student Games were held at the University of New Mexico in Brian Francom Stephen Allred We would also like to recognize the other teams participating in the Regional games: Yvette King Jacqueline Snyder Nathan Peterson Breck Smith Adam Murray Cheryl Wolfe The HR Games are a fun way to motivate and prepare students for PHR (Professional of Human Resources) certification. The HR Games consist of a series of game show style matches, between teams of up to three undergraduate students from colleges and universities. The questions for the matches are divided into categories similar to those used in the PHR certification exam (i.e., Management Practices; Selection & Recruitment; Training & Development; Compensation & Benefits; Employee/Labor Relations; and Health, Safety & Security). 1 March 2010 News Release The 11th Annual The Utah Human Resources State Council of SHRM would like to congratulate the winners of this year’s HR Games. 2010 marks the 11th year of HR Games competitions in the state of The winning teams are: Brian Francom Stephen Allred Yvette King Jacqueline Snyder Nathan Peterson Breck Smith Adam Murray Cheryl Wolfe In addition to the student teams and their advisors, we want to thank the many HR professional volunteers who donated their time to help make these games successful. Thank you for taking time out on a Saturday (an early Saturday morning at that) to help our students compete. Your professionalism and example of volunteerism are a strong influence for good in students’ lives. We could not put on an event like this without all the great volunteers!
